But I’ve seen the same and I agree with you on numerous points however, my belief is that social media alongside many other factors have made us want/become/do things that we never wanted.
We believe we do but if you cut out all noise. And ask yourself that question a few months later I bet your identity and needs and true wants will be a million times clearer.
100% agree on that Julie! It's the noise that keeps us in this wheel. But we also don't even invite the silence into our lifes anymore. Because keeping our minds and lifes busy (including social media) is just easier than confronting ourselves with questions and decisions. Thank you for sharing <3
I read somewhere that we don't know what would make us happy because we're not exposed to enough ideas. We don't have enough data so we're limited by our lack of knowledge.
When I was younger I remember how I also found it hard to imagine things for me I had never seen or felt before. But I assumed in times of social media we would have enough data to see what’s possible.
For sure social media helps if we use it intentionally, for example it can expose us to more career options etc. But if we're just mindlessly scrolling, which I'm guilty of, it becomes our own personal echo chamber.
I see this so much too! It's often easier to stay in a loop of saying 'I don't know what I want' because it lets you off the hook for actually doing he hard work to commit to changing and evolving - it feels much safer to stay circling the life you want without ever fully committing and admitting that you want it.
So true! and that’s exactly it. Saying “I don’t know what I want” feels safer, but that restless feeling doesn’t just disappear. It keeps coming back. The real question is whether you’re willing to live with the constant what if or whether you’d rather face the harder, more honest one. Thank you 🤍
for some reason this is the scariest question ever! I noticed this pattern as well in people, and walking one day I feel I had an insightful thought which was: at the core of complaining is someone who does not know what they want.
Like you I was asking people, and no once could answer.... but they could complain lol! I loved this piece such great food for thought!
Oh yeah for sure! A lot of complaining can be definitely an indicator of not being happy! We can complain about our circumstances again and again. But if you are not willing to look into your inner world and ask what is really bothering you - the external world will never fix this for you.
Here’s a thought that won’t please many readers.

Interesting! Although it’s hard to believe no?

The question most people say they wished they were asked more often but are actually afraid to answer honestly. <3
Thank you Clara for the clear explanation about current state of mind
Thank you for resonating! 🤍

Yes! That idea of getting to the end of my life and living with ‘what ifs’ is honestly what often propels me to do things!

Thank you for sharing! It was a wonderful read. An interesting question in this context is also: What would you do if you know you couldn't fail?
